The court, however, announced that the new rules would not be valid for passport under Tatkal as other i-cards such as driving licence, ration card, PAN card etc., could be used till the court passes its final judgement. On Tuesday, March 13, the Supreme Court extended the deadline to an indefinite period of time after it was brought to its notice that the new rules were made to make Aadhar-linking compulsory for passport under Tatkal passport scheme.
